Our family reunion picnic will take place under a pavilion on the shores of Lake Michigan at Margaret Drake Elliot Park. Next to the pavilion is a playground and a grassy open area for field games. Restrooms, water and electricity are available.
Just a few steps away from the pavilion is 27.5 acres of soft white sand that sits along 2.5 miles of Lake Michigan's shoreline. Don't miss the opportunity to walk barefoot on the beach and stick your toes in the water. If you are a swimmer don't forget your swimwear.
The Picnic Includes:

Parking 
Parking is $15 for the day. Use a debit or credit card to purchase a parking permit at a Kiosk. Print the receipt from the machine and place it on your front dashboard where parking officers can see it through the windshield.
Family Reunion Registration
Upon arrival, proceed to the pavilion with the Butler Family Reunion sign. Go to the registration table where you will receive a wristband, raffle tickets and a name tag.
All Seating is Picnic Table Benches
We have reserved an ample number of picnic tables and have more than enough seating for everyone. If you prefer to bring your own chair, feel free to do so.
Adult Beverages
Frozen drinks, drinks on the rocks, domestic and craft beers, wines, shots, and more are available at The Deck. This beach front bar and grill is 800 feet (a 3–4-minute walk) from the Margaret Drake Elliot Park.
Please be advised that no alcohol is permitted at the park and can only be consumed at The Deck.
Beach Sight Seeing
Enjoy a free beach bus tour of Muskegon's most popular beach destinations. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes with stops at 8 beaches.
Miscellaneous
There is a heavy population of deer near Lake Michigan. Drive defensively.

The Butler Family Reunion Brunch takes at the historic Greater Muskegon Women’s club located in downtown Muskegon. There is ample street parking.
The Butler Family Reunion Brunch features:
- A buffet featuring all your favorite brunch selections
- Beverages including wine spritzers
- A family history presentation
- A performance by the winner of the Karaoke contest
